How do you know ANY of that prior to booking the room?
You were the only one who didn't get it. Make of that what you will. The point remains that it's annoying to have to go back to the suburbs for a change of clothes, to take a nap, to get your camera or an ID you left behind. Good luck buying that.
The point also remains that for example in Manhattan, the cheapest IHG room is 35K and the ICs are 50K. That's nowhere near the 3-4x differential you mentioned. For that you need to go to Jersey or Queens, and don't tell me that's not less convenient than Manhattan.
Manhattan. REally? Your example is one of the most if not the most expensive area for real estate? Rather than picking a normal city, you decide to use the city with the most expensive RE and the most incompatible for driving. Great, after all this back and forth, your best argument is, Manhattan RE is expensive and you can't drive there.
