This is one thing I won't take my chances with. I will eat all manner of junk food, microwaveable meals, whatever. Things that people deem inedible here, I will eat. I am a person who likes Taco Bell, for reference.

I realize this was not United, but after getting my "vegetarian" meal on Air China, I will not take my chances with vegetarian Chinese food on a plane. There are not many things I won't eat (that aren't meat or eggs), but this was outright horrifying. The FA claimed it was tofu, but it was not like any tofu I had ever seen, even in China. My dad was with me (he eats meat) and he very hesitantly tried it to see if maybe it was meat. It still could not be identified. Never again.
