we are planning on flying from TLV - SFO via FRA with our cats.
From what I understand LH is considered to be one of the best options for animals. If we fly with them in cabin, everything is pretty clear. The other option is flying them as a checked luggage.

If we fly via FRA with an overnight (TLV-FRA in the afternoon, FRA-SFO next morning. ~13 hours connection) - what happens with the cats? are they being sent to an overnight boarding in Frankfurt airport (there is one there)? Is it part of the cost (200$ per cat)? Is there a way for us to track and see their status (on flight, in boarding etc).
