I have a friend, an ex-co-worker who is Italian (Roman into his 20's - parents from Sicily) who now lives in SF with his family. His #1 rule for Italian restaurants is if fettucini alfredo is on the menu, it is off the list.

There are certain things that are red flags for an unauthentic experience.
