Well.... this was one reason I actually charged something on my Plat card. As others have said, I too have kept the card more for its benefits than to put spend on it. I liked the automatic ticket protection included at no extra cost. If I remember correctly, you can buy ticket insurance at $7 per ticket purchased at Ticketmaster. Now, I have no reason to buy tix with the Plat Card. May as well buy them with my Hilton or some other card and earn the points. I assume this was yet another situation beyond Amex's control. So all one can say is the benefits keep changing, don't they?
