Main benefit is free changes to a different flight on the day WITHOUT paying fare difference.
We had a discussion about this a few weeks back, didn't we? The same-day changes, no charge for everything down to K (I think) is a real benefit, and when I'm booking ET fares I make sure that I don't drop below this.
