I'm hoping somebody will weigh in for me on this: Mr. Itrvl and I have a one night stay in Bangkok in October. We arrive from AKL around 8:30 on Sunday night and depart for FRA and beyond at midnight on Monday night. I currently have reservations at the JW, the Marriott Sukhumvit and the Renaissance. I got them during the flash sale a few weeks ago so all are reasonable.

As we arrive too late for evening lounge hours, that is a non-factor. Which hotel is easiest/quickest to get to and from BKK and yet will allow us to get out and explore the city during the one quick day we'll be there? Mr. Itrvl is Marriott Platinum. Also, we're leaving BKK on TG First Class (thank you US Airways!) so will want to leave the hotel in the early evening in order to enjoy the TG First Lounge at BKK.

Any other non-Marriott properties that would fit the bill better? This is a first time in Bangkok for both of us.
