Most of the flight the window shades will be closed. From the aisle you can see out many of the windows, just can't look down. That's why I prefer the open nature of QR's cabins.
Hehe I think its more the perception for me rather than anything. I usually take 2-3 books on a long haul and pretty much spend the whole time reading and hardly ever look out the window.
But I just like having a wall next to me for some reason. I think its grown on me from when I was young flying economy, where I always get a window seat to lean against to go to sleep. In my late 20s now but still feel the same I guess!
