Yes that combi picture brings back some memories. I felt like I lived in 24 D/G in the early 2000's.
I flew 24D about 2 dozen trips across the pacific. Infinite leg room and a decent chance of the adjacent seat being open (as one of the few middles). Would still prefer it (despite the ancient IFE) to the present cabin.
Also could easily beat the crowd to customs as you deplane before even the J customers.
Oh well ....
At least I now can often afford RL :-)
