I've got three award tickets booked on UA985 on November 21 returning UA5 on November 29, fare class X. Both flights show "J9, JN9, C9, D9, Z0, ZN0, P0, PN0, R0, RN0, IN0, I0" with only two or three seat assignments taken out of the 30 / 36 available Business seats. I'm GS and using GPUs with "Upgrade requested" showing on the reservation.

Any idea why no upgrade availability since booking eight weeks ago? Any experience with IAH-LHR upgrades clearing? Should I start searching for a different connection (we're going to IST so can connect in FRA, AMS, MUC)?

If I can't get a confirmed upgrade, I may look to TK direct or another *A partner.
