Even a small bed and breakfast in the U.K. decided to put telephones in their otherwise residential style home setting. (To make more money?)

They programmed their phone system to charge 25p for every "unit" no matter where you called. (According to them, depending on where you call, the telephone exchange would send one electrical pulse to their phone system at different frequencies depending on the location called ex. 1 pulse every 30 seconds etc.)

When I checked out, I was given a GBP 100 phone bill during a 2-night stay (the room was GBP 90/night !!!)
