The Cars are old and the service are nasty and when you comaire the Price for a Ticket for the hole Family or 2 Adult you will see in the most case a (Rental) Car and a Hotel is much cheaper.
People who need a cheap Ticket the take the Bus and the other the Plane.
Enough of this practicality. The night trains are fun and romantic.
But if the financial losses are as reported then it isn't surprising they are disappearing. It does surprise me slightly though, in my (admittedly very limited) exprience they seem to be fairly busy.
