Take the
Daily Telegraph story's story's headline with a pinch of salt as this is coming from a U.K. newspaper.
As reported, the airlines interested in the Sonic Cruiser are asking Boeing to make a Mach 1.8-capable aircraft. It seems initial wind tunnel data of the design of the Sonic Cruiser is indicating that sonic booms are greatly reduced and that overland supersonic flights may be possible.
Boeing hasn't said anything publicly.
