There is a nice Sofitel or Sheraton Grand Sukhumvit. Both are short walk from Asok sky train station for the airport link, if you don't have much luggage (you must navigate stairs and uneven sidewalks).
No stairs or sidewalks from the Sheraton. There's a covered, elevated walkway from the Asok Skytrain station directly into the Sheraton's lobby. No need to worry about traffic, uneven sidewalks, etc.
