We had the same problem when we went there to interview the first hires and worked from the Regus International office at San Fernando Plaza. I have had better luck using my phone's 4G connection, but that isn't high enough quality for me to want to talk to customers, even when traveling within the USA. In fairness, I often have the same problem in U.S. hotels. The most disappointing of late was the Hyatt Regency O'Hare.

We are currently using 8x8, but we had the same problem with Vonage before we switched. In Bogotá, however, both the Marriott and Hilton have strong enough WiFi for me to work just fine. Medellin's hotels just aren't yet up to North American standards. It's not the city or the quality of service that is available there.
Ken, I agree the internet in Colombia is sometimes not stable enough to rely on for client calls, particularly lengthy ones, but IME it's always been sufficient to allow me to call UA and make changes to my itinerary. If a user is able to load FT, with all its flash content, odds are the connection will support a VOIP call to UA.
