AA/BA/Menzies Aviation bag issues

Hi,

I just had the worst problems ever with my bag(s).

First I flew ARN-LHR-ORD-LAX on BA/AA/AA ticketed by US.

The bag arrived dammaged at LAX so they gave me a replacement one. This proved to be of very poor quality: the Wheels had some rubber bands on which got torn quite rapidly, then got entangled with the Wheels. Because of the entaglement and the friction, the Wheels lost their circular shape and now look like trapezes.

Anyway, when I arrived back at LAX for the return flight, I explained the situation to the AA baggage counter, that the bag they had given me was of poor quality and asked for a new one. The lady at the counter did file a dammage report but said they could not give me a replacement bag, and said I should make the claim at my final destination (ARN).

My return leg was LAX-LAS-LHR-ARN operated by AA/BA/BA and again ticketed by US. The layover in LAS was about 24h and at LAX, AA told me they could not check the baggage overnight, so in LAS I had to drag it to my hotel from/ to the Airport.

Finally, arriving at ARN tonight, I had to deal with the rude people at Menzies Aviation. There was no one in the line, yet the girl told me she can not see me until I get a ticket. Then I showed them the bag and the dammage report AA had given me. They told me they can not give me a replacement bag, since they don't work with AA and it was AA's fault. I showed them my BA boarding pass, but that did not change anything: "If we give you a bag and bill it to BA, BA will not pay us for it". When I asked to speak to the manager, they said there was none. I then asked for a report, and the guy started to hand-write it. I asked him for an official report. 3 minutes later he handed me a piece of paper with just 2 sentences on it, on how he could not sort the issue, because it was AA's liability. I then told him I was not going to leave until he would have written a proper report, with a least a name, a flight number, and a date. Then the girl intervened and said it was not their job to provide such reports. After a long discussion, in the end the guy issued me one.

Needless to say I had to drag the bag through Stockholm and will have to do it again when returning to ARN.

What do you guys think of the whole situation? Whose fault is it and what should I do next? I'm flying to LHR this coming Monday...
