I agree with Eastbay1K.

Take the 5:05 am flight from PDX to Seattle instead and allow plenty of time to make the transfer to the Newark flight.

Not many choices out of PDX to SEA that early in the morning with AS 8 changing its departure time from 9:10 am to 8:00 am.
