Wow. I'm going to have to agree with Controller1 on this. However, I will respond to just two points, Ryan754. By way of background, I'm a regular at this property, -- it's pretty much my Bangkok home. Over the years, I've come to know lots of staff members personally. So I do have some experience.

The issue isn't what they do for a living; the issue is how they behave in the public areas of the hotel. And from your description of the way in which you conducted yourself, a casual reader might conclude that these women act with more dignity in public than you.

As I said, I'm friendly with many of the customer facing staff at this hotel. And I hear the exact opposite from them. Staff at all levels have told me that this GM takes particular interest in each employee, remembering family details, etc. I also hear that he actively searches out opportunities to enhance their careers and encourage their professional development through ongoing training and internal advancement.

I don't give "heard around the grapevine" much credibility, especially in the face of what I have heard from specific employees about their own experiences working for this gentleman. But for FT rules prohibiting same, I could easily name names of specific employees I have witnessed advance from, for example, waiter/waitress in one specific restaurant to a relatively senior management position in F&B. They are, without exception, grateful for the opportunities to advance in a hotel which is managed, AFAICT, as a meritocracy.
