Yes, you can change it at check-in, though I think it's probably better to do it now, so you don't have to get caught up with this distraction when you'll probably have other things to worry about. I'm the part-time PA to a Goldie who has many good qualities despite spending his entire life in World Traveller and having an incompetent travel agent, so I happen to know that if you ring up they, BAEC, can change the number very quickly, and indeed verify the number is correct.
However you may have some success by trying Finnair, Royal Jordanian or Qatar's version of MMB. I would first delete it altogether, save it, and then exit their system. Then half an hour later re-insert with the correct number.
