My application for an Arrival card was approved after I called the line today. Learned that my app had been automatically declined because of my previous application for the same card about 3 months ago. When speaking to the rep, she mentioned she would have to do a pull on my credit report and then questioned my newest account openings. I mentioned they were hotel cards to attain the status due to my increased travel schedule (which is true).

One other thing I did prior to calling the reconsideration line was to use the Secure Message Center in my US Airways card and have my credit limit reduced there by a significant amount. The last time my application was denied due to the fact that they had already extended me a great deal of credit. That seemed to help.

I think I am done applying for new credit cards for a while...even though all of those sign up bonuses are tempting!!
