Yes, HND has horrendous slot times; but IMO that's because Japan has given their own airlines priority. HND is definitely more of an O&D airport, as it is significantly closer and more convenient to the city. The only transitting that makes much sense is to intra-Japan flights, or flights to other similar airports (such as Seoul Gimpo, Taipei Songshan, etc.).

I'm just bummed they weren't able to start this service until after I was travelling TYO-PDX frequently.
