I think you are referring to the Saudi Arabian Airlines L-1011 that caught on fire when a passenger began cooking a meal in a pot over an open flame in the cabin. The plane landed safely but the FE forgot to depressurize the cabin and the doors could not be opened. Everyone on board died, most, I believe, from smoke inhalation and not fire.
