The domestic flights actually look very reasonable! Will also look at using UR points in hotels instead of flights.

On another note, thank you guv1976 for your suggestion on transferring to BA Avios. It looks like it's only 4,500 points + $15 for Sydney >> Melbourne / Brisbane >> Sydney flights. Very reasonable indeed!
