All F&B that I saw in both areas of the lounge at EZE seemed to be free; there weren't any notices about prices and I didn't observe any mechanism to pay near the food, nor were there any staff members to guard the food.
I was last at EZE in Feburary so I'm not sure if it was possibly an old lounge, but the one I was at looked really new, the area "reserved for platinums" was about 2 or 3 spacious cabanas in the back left corner of the lounge.
Anyway I would just find a couch seat near the bar, and get a few drinks in before I have to fly back up to Miami, but haven't seen for certain if these areas are actually enforced or not.
And you're right about the food at EZE, I've used the lounge at MEX more that I'm used to paying for it
