Upfront straightforward? No. Within M&M O&I award inventory is not equal to upgrade inventory, for star upgrades they will probably apply the same inventory control as they do for awards to UA MP, my guess is they will ask UA to use the O & I inventory, it works the same way the other around. (M&M trying to upgrade UA operated flights with eVouchers).
