IMO this further devalues Delta/Virgin miles for USA flyers--since Virgin had offered another (often better) option for these foreign destinations. No more. Wonder what else they might cut in the future...?
While this may be smart for Virgin in terms of profitability--since the US market is so large--I don't think this direction will attract more flyers for the frequent flyer perks/awards. Only 2 classes of service for both airlines, and more focus on the US market for Virgin doesn't exactly offer aspirational options, after all.
I'm so glad I don't fly Delta. I was terribly underwhelmed the one time I flew Upper Class on Virgin LAX-LHR. Not a marriage that helps or attracts us, at least.
