It's ridiculous to fly through the US to Canada. Who wants to transit through the US? That's the LAST PLACE you'd want to transit through to get to another country.

As far as HKG goes, I've heard it does ok (from VS ground staff). But their concern is the flight being reduced down to a B789 from the larger A346. Thus cutting cabin crew and possibly ground staff ex HKG.

They let go quite a few of the ground staff when they cut the HKG-SYD flight. Moral is quite low, but I've heard nothing but good things in the past in regards to working for the company. Sadly, that changed when DL took over.
