$12.50 fee is for awards.

Apparently there are ways of adding DL flights to itins by calling AS to add to an AS itinerary (or even UA)
That is very interesting. Could you link me to more information on this? I am particularly confused how UA, a non-partner would be involved.
No link for this info. AS has the ability, as with other TA's to add other flight options onto AS flights (assuming they are within the US- not sure about CA or MX)
