If you can leave Chicago one day early, award seats are available on AB for flights ORD-TXL-MUC.
You can get to MAD on IB from several airports in the US, including BOS, JFK, MIA and (I think) ORD. IB award travel cannot be checked online, but require a phone call to AA.
