Another option: When availability for the desired flights on January 1 comes available, book a ticket for MNL-YQB for any available date in November/December and the return on January 1 with the desired flights for YQB-MNL. Then, when the desired MNL-YQB flights for January 20 open up, pay the $90 change fee to switch the Nov/Dec flights to January.
