seems OP want to book right on the day when the departure flight is available, hence there might be a chance that there are no return flight available yet.
But I think OP can book the one-way, then pay $90 + miles to change it to be a round-trip if OP need stopover. Otherwise, two (2) one-way will be better (and cheaper
)
