It's unlikely that AA will use STL as a serious hub, and ORD is already so overcrowded that AA now has extra assets on its hands, so what would it want with still MORE planes from USAirways? Besides, most of what they were going to buy were US's 757s, most of which were old Eastern planes. Why pay big bucks for an aging fleet?
Besides, the UA/US merger is all but dead, they just have to wait another 6 weeks before rolling out Plan B (whatever that is).
