VS Cutbacks....opportunity/threat for BA?

Just seen on twitter that Virgin are cutting the following from their network to 'focus on Delta transatlantic partnership'

Mumbai and Tokyo: 01FEB15
Vancouver: ends when season ends (Oct 14)
Cape Town: 27APR15

Personally I'm surprised by the cutbacks, in particular CPT which I know BA achieve high LF's on regularly.

Anyone think there could be a possible response from BA? Up gauging/additional frequencies. Obviously there's the question of where slots will come from but could this be an opportunity for BA?

Just seen also, they are going to boost frequencies on NY and LA as well as introducing services to Detroit as a result of these cuts.
