Trying to change an award ticket, I used Qantas' site to find availability on the long haul and AA.com to find availability from LAX to my town (Austin). AA showed a perfectly timed US flight connecting in Phoenix, but the agent said there was no availability and put me on a later AA direct flight. After hanging up I checked again, and my desired flight still came up. I can understand different availability than partner sites, but different availability than their own site is ridiculous.

I once found multiple options over multiple days for LAS-CLT/PHX-FLL
Multiple agents could not find flights that were easy to find online. I had unsure travel plans and had to get the flights changed multiple times So, I found that it was easier to hold the booking online and then call AA with the new record reservation number
