At PVG and all other airports in mainland China the goal should be to time your arrival at the airport to as close to the minimum check in time as possible. That way you can check in, go through security and passport control and go immediately to the gate for boarding. There is absolutely nothing in terms of lounges or amenities that would make an early arrival at the airport desirable.
