My Delta AMEX (not a Reserve card) only had a $4K limit. After they approved me, they called and asked how much of my credit line I wanted to transfer from my Hilton AMEX. I said $4K, and that's how I ended w/ $4K.

My wife (with a fraction of my income) had a much higher limit on her Delta AMEX, but it was her only AMEX card.
