Mines $5K, too, but I charge around 10K a month on it. I just go online and make payments every week or so, as needed. It takes about 3 seconds. You can do the same. The limit really should not be a hindrance, unless you need to make a very large purchase.
I have the AMEX app on my phone and you can make a payment to free up your open to buy with a payment in no time. The only issue is if you were making an individual purchase over $5k.
