eBags 21" vs. 22" wheelie, which fits sizer?

I bought the eBags 21" wheelie a year ago, thinking it was smaller than their 22". Well it is--but only in length.

Last year I had no problems with it but now I am re-thinking this, as I am catching a few regional SAALink flights and the site says the maximum dimensions are 22.75" length, 14.2" width, and 9.1" high.

On the eBags site is says the TLS Mini 21 is 21" x 15" x 9". But this is a soft-sided duffel, with only one side--the back--being rigid. Hence, I am wondering, is 15" really too wide for the typical UA/AA/DL sizer? Has anyone tried it?

The other eBags duffel is the TLS 22 which is stated to be a "domestic carry-on" and has the dimensions of 21.5" x 14" x 9". As you can see, it is one inch narrower than the (smaller) mini.

One reviewer said he had the TLS Mini 21 but went up to the TLS 22 because he needed a larger case for international travel--yet he has had no problem on regional jets with either bag.

Any feedback? I called eBags and the rep said he had hear no negatives, either way.
