My preference is for the Concorde room over the QF SYD F lounge, both for food and ambiance. And in my opinion the SQ Private room and the TG F lounge in BKK beat them both.
Better in various aspects in my opinion are
QF SYD F lounge food and general light in the lounge (doubt a 'living wall would last more than a few days with BA)
JFK BA CCR for probably the best service/catering staff ever (despite some really quite obnoxious self important types they have to encounter)
Lufthansa Frankfurt F terminal - need one say more?
CX in HKG for food/service and loos/shower
So no, London CCR is pretty mediocre compared to the best.
where does CCR London fail relatively?
Rubbish menu/wine - CX get the Peninsular to do it - and put their name to it. Doubt Travel lodge would want their name on the some of the recent offerings.
Loos look and sound gurgle like a North Sea ferry - or more like a motorway services in ambiance, than the dark wood and marble of CX, simple style of LH, tidiness of QF, etc etc.
Noise: piped music (think trying too hard boutique hotel) clashing with TV often at way too loud a volume
Fast track - yes there's a door, but the whole T5 fast track often is n't.
Capacity. Since moving T4 to T5 invol. upgrades now get in. So can get too full at times.
What does work well are the staff (much improved), the sofa's are comfy and the fake fires are nice. It is also (nowadays) cleaner than it was.
but... BA F is designed to work at a lower price point. You get what you pay for, so it will never be the CX Wing, LH F terminal.
