It is certainly possible to go to the transfer desk upon arrival at ZRH and ask for a change.

Subject to availability, the transfer desk will then rebook you to the earlier flight in accordance with your fare rules, i.e. charging you the change fee plus any fare difference as based on your original ticket.

There is no such thing as free standby.
