I don't really think there is a correlation. If late we do ask ATC for shortcuts, but that is to benefit everyone, not deny any EU261 chasers their compo. We never ask engineers to hurry. Never never never. I would always prefer to spend a day in a dump then have a problem over an ocean or desert.
