I bought a SIM 3 weeks ago (and also 3 months ago same place) land side (check in area, top floor) near the central information desk, near the bank of phones. You can ask information desk and they will send you to the place.
There is a vending machine that sells cash add value codes and an attendant that sells the SIM. I paid 150y for SIM and 100y added cash value. She gave me a receipt as well
Attendant will also punch your SIM to iphone size (I think all SIM sellers in China have a punch machine) and help you navigate the Chinese SMSs for setup
If you will be often in Nanjing you should get your SIM there as most SIMs in China are roaming outside area of purchase.
I was tired of one off SIMs and latest trip bought a permanent (registered) SIM, though you can go years with one offs....
