What precautions do you have in mind?
You are over-reacting and your family, as noted by YuropFlyer, is way over-reacting.
Ebola is only communicable by touching the fluids and/or the body of a person with symptoms and then touching your nose, eyes, mouth (i.e. any mucus membrane). It is not communicable by air (i.e. sneezing or coughing). Avoiding all physical contact (e.g. shaking hands) with those showing symptoms or potentially exposed to symptoms greatly reduces the risk.
