Also something people should keep in mind is that a business can be made exempt from the more onerous PCI compliance provisions just by having the vast majority of their transactions go through EMV enabled readers (which could save a large company like Walmart tons of money). Unfortunately it doesn't look like a lot took Visa/MC up on that offer.
