I do not live to work, I work to live in the way I like. I have been out whale watching around Monterey Bay twice this past week instead of writing.

I heard excitement in the voices of six-year-olds yesterday as I informed them in first grade they were doing algebra by finding the missing number in a math sentence. Several school kids talked to me about the story I told them last week about eating spaghetti in Rome when I was 14 and why I rarely eat spaghetti since then.

An elderly woman I spoke with yesterday, upon learning that I am going to Norway next week wrote down the name of a town where her father emigrated from in the early 20th century. She said she would love to see photographs of the town. I actually had a hard time finding it on Google maps. I think the town may not exist in this day, but I have a destination to seek out, not too far from Bergen where I will be spending a week. I'd love to show her photographs of where her father came from in Norway.

Next week I will be walking the beaches of Norway and writing about the places, people and little alterations I see between Norway and California.

Wow, I wish there was a like or love button for this post. You have something that 98% of BA bloggers are lacking. Integrity. This is why I read your blog and two others from BA and ignore the rest.
