according to my statement page on the EK website, by travelling on an upcoming DBX-JFK-LAX-DBX trip I am earning the mileage required to make platinum status. only by completing the last leg will I have earned the required miles..

I am flying J. I guess there wont' be any acknowledgement of status change until I fly again.. is that right?

also as a Dubai resident I was using my Gold card to enter and exit (E-Gate) and it expired a few weeks ago and last trip I had to get a stamp in the passport. How soon will I be able to get a platinum card so I can register the e-gate on that..

Any chance there is a place in the airport which can print the new tags...

in the platinum thread I recall it being mentioned that even it flying in Y or J baggage tags will be first class if platinum? is that correct..
