One of the big questions to initially ask is how much control you have over choosing your airline and flights for traveling? (i.e., does your employer book your flights...)

If you choose to fly with Virgin Atlantic, then you should be aware of Star Alliance, the airline network that Virgin is a part of. Other Asian carriers part of Star Alliance include Air China, ANA, All Nippon, Eva Air, Shenzhen Airlines, Singapore Airlines, and Thai Airways.
