Well, uninformed customers who will not notice all the enhancements are obviously LHs favorite customers.
But then - apart from the few rich (but not rich enough for a private jet) who don't care at all and have someone managing their bookings anyway most people will eventually care.
Maybe not on this very enhancement. Some will take this as a reason to fly less LH group. Most not. But then it's always like this. Every enhancement will lower loyalty from customer side.
If the gain on revenues is higher than the lowered income from gone-loyalty, it was a good move. If it's the opposite, then it was a bad move.
From my personal view, LH only looks at the "naked sheets" - they don't see the downsides of the cuts.
And sometimes it's even worse:
The recent heavy cut of mileage earning in Y will mean not just less award miles for it's customers but eventually also have quite a lot of customers losing their FTL/SEN status. Which will DEFINITELY mean less loyalty.
A customer who flies (for work) on long haul rather regularly (say, monthly/ 12x per year) FRA-PEK - even in medium booking classes like Q, S, V, W will now miss SEN by a huge margin.
If same customer would fly with Air France/KLM, Aeroflot or BA, he would easily hit their gold status.
Seat reservations gone. Difficult to attain status. Lower award earnings. Fare increases. High strike probability. No, LH group isn't really showing signs that they show any loyalty towards their customers, despite what Mr. Spohr promised. It looks like if you're loyal to LH group, you're the silly one.
Oh, and just a few more enhancements, fresh from the lab:
"K" class on SQ is fully enhanced for any mileage earnings now - seems the 50% it got after the last enhancement was still too much. On comparison, if crediting to M&B, you get 100% earnings in K.
Also, earnings in Premium Economy on LOT (R) has been lowered from 1.5x to 1x.
Mister Spohr promised us "exciting" news for loyal flyers..
Seems all the excitement is how much you allow LH to further enhance till you jump ship.
