April is still a long, long way off in the world of air travel. Other than sporadic checking to see if the earlier JFK flight happened to open up, I really wouldn't worry much with it until later this year to early next year.

Both JL and CX are pretty good about releasing additional award seats as the flight gets closer (assuming there's space), so it's a definite possibility that better options will open up...JL via ORD or nonstop to BOS, CX via HKG/ORD/JFK, etc..
