Glad to hear the bus was so easy. Sometimes it is grim.
I have been using the LCY service which is great, and reliable.... but sadly cityflyer are dropping the route soon.
The connection to Gatwick is (Was!) easy too.... DLR / Jubilee/ London Bridge.
I will be on one of the very last ABZ flight from LCY in October. :-(
